VANDA TRICOLOR
Description:
The 2011 Rwanda 500 francs "Vanda tricolor" coin is an elegant issue dedicated to one of the country’s native flora of Laos. The floral side creates a dramatic contrast between the colored Vanda tricolor orchid bright and silver field. A detailed cluster of blooming orchids across the composition, displaying multiple blossoms with sculpted pink, white and red-dotted white lips and petals, unopened buds, a green slender stem and long slender green leaves. The botanical name VANDA TRICOLOR curves prominently around the upper border within a ribbon, while the Iconography of Gautama Buddha in Laos and some Lao handicrafts in the background completes the design.
