The reverse features a fully colored detailed depiction of a majestic sailing ship identified as the HMS Endeavour. The vessel is shown with fully raised sails sailing across stylized dark blue waves, visible rigging, tall masts, flags, hull planking, deck structures carefully engraved, and stylized waves beneath the ship, conveying motion and life at sea and maritime strength against the golden compass rose at the upper left, surrounded by a golden map grid and navigational details in the background. A ribbon inscription reads “Santa Maria,” and an inset medallion features fully colored Sea nautical navigation instruments "sextant, , divider, sailor compass, metal spyglass" all within a circle surrounded by the text identifying the series "African Ounce" left while the metal, weight and purity accompanied by the date "2017 1oz FINE SILVER 999" along the right edge.
