Description:
The reverse of the coin depicts Australian troops on duckboards crossing the desolation of the battlefield near the village of Passchendaele during the Third Battle of Ypres. The inscription identify theme "1917 - THE GRIM PATH BACK" above, a red poppy at the right side, and the Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark at the opposite. The designer's initials "WR" in tiny letters right below right.
