features the stunning scene that has been the centrepiece of the issues for the year of the Outback. With improved technology, this years coin the hologram itself is bigger and the image more radiant than the first hologram coin. The photographs taken by NSW photographer Michael Scott Lees, of the Olgas. With the improved technology the coin has three images that can be seen, First is the soft morning light, as the coin is moved, the image of the Olgas reddens with the heat of the day and the late afternoon. Then moving the coin again the Olgas disappear into the twilight of an outback night. The struck design is an image of The Olgas as if they are being reflected in a pool of rainwater. two separate images are visible. The inscription "YEAR OF THE OUTBACK" inscribed close to the bottom rim.
