AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC TEAM
AS
Description:
The concept of the reverse design is to represent recognisable athletes in motion. The movements can be associated with many different sports, featuring three athletes, a driver in the decisive moment, figure gymnast performing a backbend with arms stretched upward, and Volleyball player jumping to hit a serve. The ribbon that flows around the figures and enforces the movement could be a the Australian Olympic committee logo (the coat of arms sits seamlessly on top of the classic Olympic rings, features the traditional Australian green and gold, inspired by the Golden Wattle flower), rhythmic gymnastics ribbon, finish line ribbon or just a symbol of passion, courage, and dedication that drives them towards the same goal. Behind the figures are five concentric circles that represent the five Olympic circles and could reference a running track or cycling velodrome. The inscription "AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC TEAM" and the face value "5 DOLLARS" is inscribed close to the bottom rim. The designer's initials (AS) are also incorporated into the design below right.
