The reverse design depicts the ancient Parthenon in the foreground signifying the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. They Sydney Opera House in the background symbolizes the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. The linking of the ancient and the modern buildings recognizes the 2700 year history of the Olympic Games and the modern history between the two nations. The bridge between the cities is created in the holographic Australian Olympic Team logo ( (Australian flag raised Olympic rings)). This is the first time that the Australian Olympic logo is featured in this state of the art technique.
