The reverse of the coin landscape to commemorate the city’s hosting of the 2006 Commonwealth Games, has an intricate design of Melbourne city CBD cityscape rising across the Yarra River - skyscrapers, river line. The struck design is an image of the Melbourne as if they are being reflected in contrast below a waterline. Included in the design is the official Melbourne Commonwealth Games logo (an image of 2 figures, which represents sport and culture, achievement and excellence, while the colours green, yellow, and red represents celebratory, fresh and youthfully optimistic character of Melbourne city. The two figures in the logo joined to form a letter M, which is the initial letter of Melbourne, the games host city) and at the top of the design is the legend XVIII COMMONWEALTH GAMES.
