Description:
The reverse features HM Bark Endeavour "which sailed during 1769-1771 under the command of Captain James Cook" which an impressive depiction of a large sailing warship viewed head-on, its tall masts, rigging, and billowing sails rendered in sharp relief. The ship cuts through stylized waves, conveying power and motion between two stylized lines of the ship way. The inscription reads “HM BARK ENDEAVOUR” along stylized left line and the series name "VOYAGES INTO HISTORY" along the right one. the denomination “5 DOLLARS” curves along the lower edge. The designer's monogram (VG) below left.
