The coin’s reverse depicts a beautifully engraved De Havilland DH 86 aircraft in flight (the de Havilland Express). The aircraft is illustrated with tapered wings, streamlined fuselage, cockpit glazing, propellers, and landing gear details in the foreground. One of its oval windows with an engraved small image of it on it in the background. The inscription identifies the theme "AVIATION HISTORY - DE HAVILLAND DH 86" curves along the upper edge and the face value "5 DOLLARS" is inscribed close to the bottom rim. The designer's monogram (WP) is also incorporated into the design below right.
