CENTENARY OF CANBERRA
AS

Description:
The reverse design of the coin reflects Walter Burley Griffin’s ambitious and ultimately triumphant design for Australia’s federal capital began with the laying of the foundation stones in 1913, even the most optimistic champion of the city's development could not have foreseen the success of today’s Canberra, depicts modern Canberra's skyline set over a reflection of an artistic impression of that same skyline 100 years before. The inscription identifies the theme "CENTENARY OF CANBERRA" with its reflect in the middle and dates year of establishment and year of issue above. The designer's monogram (AS) is also incorporated into the design below right.
