END OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR

Description:
The reverse features a woman releasing doves, representing peace, and origami cranes, a reference to the Children’s Peace Monument "located in the heart of Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park, is a poignant symbol of peace and hope. Erected in 1958, this monument pays tribute to Sadako Sasaki, a young victim of the atomic bombing, and through her, to all the children affected by this tragedy." The woman’s hair and garments fall to resemble a wreath wrapping each side of the coin. The coin’s design represents the triumph of peace over war, and solemnly commemorates those who fell during the Second World War. The inscriptions "END OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR" curves along the left edge and "75TH ANNIVERSARY" with "1oz 999 Ag" curves along the right edge. The designer's initials "TD" in tiny letters below right.
