Description:
The reverse design featuring the William Web Ellis Cup (gilded silver and has two cast scroll handles. One handle bears the head of a satyr, the other the head of a nymph. On the face of the trophy, the words International Rugby Football Board, and below that arch The Webb Ellis Cup are engraved) selectively plated in 24 carat gold on the reverse. The effect was achieved by gold plating the center oval on which the image of the trophy is struck. Surrounding 2003 Rugby World Cup logo (a stylized leaning rugby ball silhouette alongside "Rugby World Cup Australia 2003" text) right and left sides, inscription "The World in Union" around above and the denomination "Five Dollars" around below.
