Engravings on this face of the coin identify the name of the series "AUSTRALIAN BOTTLENOSE DOLPHIN" inscribed close to the bottom rim. In the left field, the Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark appears and the designer's initials "WR" in tiny letters above left, on the dolphin's left flipper.
