Description:
The obverse features a detailed uniformed portrait of King Moshoeshoe II wearing a peaked military cap, glasses, decorated jacket, epaulettes and medals, surrounded by the Kingdom of Lesotho designation and dividing dates "1966- 1977". The inscription of the event "10TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE" is inscribed close to to the bottom rim.

Description:
The reverse features a Basotho woman dressed in traditional clothing, wrapped in adorned traditional wool blankets and traditional Basotho hat "its woven surface, decorative horizontal bands and geometric patterns rendered in frosted relief" sitting and handcrafted a pottery-making, the surface of the jug is decorated with geometric folk patterns, while the background reveals a traditional Basotho home (mokhoro) "typically made of stone with a thatched roof", and mountain, reminding us of the craft’s roots in everyday village life.
