The reverse features a tall rooster standing among the bamboo foliage and flowers, its plumage engraved with striking detail, tail feathers flowing upward as a hen and three chicks peck for food on the ground nearby. This beautiful lunar design also incorporates the Chinese character (雞) for "Rooster", the inscription "Year of the Rooster" is inscribed close to the bottom rim. In the left field, The Perth Mint's traditional "P" mint mark.
