Description:
The reverse features a finely engraved richly colored adult monkey and a baby monkey catching one peach on its right hand rendered in a calm, contemplative pose. Fine engraving highlights the animals' expressive face, attentive eyes, detailed fur texture, slender arms, and relaxed posture sitting on a branch of a peach tree. With richly colored one peach at the right side, the peach tree also represents longevity and immortality, along with the Chinese character (羊) for "Monkey" to the left, the inscription “Year of the Monkey” is placed along the rim, and the Perth Mint “P” mintmark is also inscribed on the left of the coin and the designer's initials (IJ) are also incorporated into the design to opposite.
