Description:
The reverse of the coin depicts an adult monkey and a baby monkey sitting in a peach tree. The baby is holding a peach, which is symbolic of longevity and immortality. The Chinese character (猴) for 'monkey' above and the inscription 'Year of the Monkey' also in the design inscribed close to the bottom rim. In the left field, The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ Mint Mark appears and the the designer's initials (IJ) at the opposite on a branch behind the baby.
