The reverse design reflects man's obsession with timekeeping and features representations of ancient and modern timekeeping methods, depicting the tools or instruments that have helped man define the universe through the ages, in the foreground "water clocks" with "the hourglass" astrolabes:, "pendulums", "the sundial" and the modern watch in the background. Above right The World Clock in different countries from 7 O'clock in Australia. Stylized representation of the solar system and stars in the background with the Latin inscription reads '"Tempus fugit et nunquam revertitur" (Time flies and never returns). The coin features an inscribed rim detailing its purity, weight, and year of production accompanied by the series name "AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA - 2001 · 10OZ. 999 SILVER" . This remarkable feature adds aesthetic value beyond the metal content. The coin's name "EVOLUTION OF THE CALENDAR" is inscribed close to the bottom rim. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark appears and the designer's initials (AD) right.
