Description:
The coin portrays an image of one of these cuddly-looking creatures standing on all fours in grassy terrain. The wombat is one of the world’s largest burrowing animals and has sharp, flat claws on its feet that it uses to burrow tunnels. Engravings on this face of the coin identify the name of the series "WOMBAT" are inscribed close to the bottom rim. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark is on the left and the designer's initials (JM) are below left.
