Description:
A small wombat is depicted in the foreground of the reverse design. The wombat are found on the Australian continent in a number of different types of habitats. The wombat depicted is shown in a small burrow it has dug out underground and is sitting on all fours as it gazes forward. Engravings on this face identify the name of the series "WOMBAT" around above, the year of issue, weight, purity, and metal content are inscribed close to the bottom rim. In the left field, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark appears and the the designer's initials (JM) are also incorporated into the design below left in the ground to the right of the wombat .
