Description:
The reverse depicts a stylized image of the swagman from the song Waltzing Matilda, replete with a swag and walking stick and dressed roughly as one would expect from a largely homeless 19th century drifter. The inscription “Waltzing Matilda” in two lines below the face value. The engraver’s initials (VG) are placed at the bottom edge left to the stick. Along the right bottom edge the bush poet name Andrew Barton "Banjo" Paterson.
