Description:
The reverse of the coin is based on an original hand-colored engraving by Vincent Woodthorpe which was published in George Barrington's (A Voyage to Botany Bay) depicts a kangaroo facing left but looking right, pulling on a tree branch with its front paw with two joeys in its pouch. The face value "ONE DOLLAR" around above and the metal, weight and purity marks “1 OUNCE FINE SILVER” around below.
