Description:
Multiple symbols of Australia feature on the reverse field of the Beneath the Southern Skies Coins. The Southern Cross, as depicted on the Australian flag and in this design, comes with four larger stars forming the common Crux constellation and a smaller star within the lower-right field of the constellation. The Australian continent features in the background with the island of Tasmania and Australia’s Antarctic lands, highlighted by the longitudinal and latitudinal lines of the globe are featured in the background. The metal, weight and purity marks “1oz .999 SILVER,” is also inscribed close to the bottom rim and the face value “1 DOLLAR” inscribed above Australian continent. The coin also features New South Wales’ animal emblem, the platypus, in place of Sydney.
