The reverse of the coin features an artistic bird's-eye view of the deep chasm of Super Pit Gold Mine in Western Australia, with a tiny loaded truck seen in the left part of the image for scale comparison. Engravings on this face of the coin identify the name of the series "SUPER PIT AUSTRALIA" around above, the year of issue, weight, purity, and metal content are inscribed close to the bottom rim. In the left field, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark appears and the the designer's initials (LB) are also incorporated into the design at the opposite.
