6th crowned portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II facing right (the Commonwealth effigy), wearing the George IV State Diadem, the Coronation Necklace and Earrings framed by inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” and the face value “1 DOLLAR.”

Description:
Two emu depictions grace the reverse field of the coin. In this design, there are two images of the emu from different perspectives. In the foreground, the right-profile image of the elegant neck and small head of the emu. In the background, the full-length image of the emu is featured in left-profile relief. This side of the coin features a micro-laser engraved letter visible only under magnification. This serves as a security element for the coin. Engravings on this face of the coin identify the name of the new series "AUSTRALIAN EMU" around above, the year of issue, weight, purity, and metal content are inscribed close to the bottom rim. In the left field, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark appears and the the designer's initials (NH) are also incorporated into the design at the opposite in the ground to the right of the bird.
