The obverse features Fourth crowned portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, along with inscriptions: ELIZABETH II – AUSTRALIA – 1 DOLLAR – 2009 – 1oz 999 SILVER. The transparent locket continues seamlessly onto the obverse side, allowing the diamonds to be admired from both views.

In the right field, the designer's initials (JG) appears discreetly below the line and The Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark is not included.
