6th crowned portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II facing right (the Commonwealth effigy), wearing the George IV State Diadem, the Coronation Necklace and Earrings framed by inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” and the face value “1 DOLLAR.”

Description:
The coin’s reverse design depicts the largest known lump of gold ever found (discovered on 5 February in 1869 by John Deason and Richard Oates. The mining occurred in the area of a small town - Moliagul, Victoria), inscriptions identify theme "AUSTRALIAN NUGGET" around above, “THE WELCOME STRANGER NUGGET” and year of discover “1869” around below. In the right field, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark appears and the designer's initials (SD) in tiny letters in the lowest part of the nugget.
