Behind the kookaburra, the leaves of the tree can be seen in their typical green shade, the bird is depicted in the silver hue of the platinum coin itself. An inscription indicating the theme "DISCOVER AUSTRALIA" is shown along the upper edge with its name accompanied by weight, purity, and metal content "KOOKABURRA ," "2012," "9995 PLATINUM." In the right field, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark appears and the designer's initials (TV) are also incorporated into the design below the frog's hide leg.
