While the background habitat is in color, the frog is depicted in the silver hue of the platinum coin itself. An inscription indicating the theme "DISCOVER AUSTRALIA" is shown along the upper edge with its name accompanied by weight, purity, and metal content "GREEN AND GOLD BELL FROG," "2012," "9995 PLATINUM." In the right field, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark appears and the designer's initials (WR) are also incorporated into the design below the frog's hide leg.
