At the left side is the year of issue and underneath the text ‘100 JAHRE’ (100 YEARS). The text ‘REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH’ (AUSTRIAN REPUBLIC) is inscribed at the bottom right in semi-circle. The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European Union.
