Description:
The reverse features a finely engraved richly colored lone monkey rendered in a calm, contemplative pose. Fine engraving highlights the animal’s expressive face, attentive eyes, detailed fur texture, slender arms, and relaxed posture sitting on a branch of a peach tree looking back. With richly colored one peach delicately dangling from its grasp, the peach tree also represents longevity and immortality, along with the Chinese character (羊) for "Monkey" to the left, the inscription “Year of the Monkey” is placed along the rim, and the Perth Mint “P” mintmark is also inscribed on the left of the coin and the designer's initials (IJ) are also incorporated into the design to opposite.
