The coin’s reverse artistry portrays a branch of Jasmine flowers and undulating countryside with nearby hills topped by pagodas. As well as the Chinese character for horse, which is derived from a pictogram of a horse in the center proudly rearing up onto its hind legs with a flowing mane. Also included in the design is the inscription ‘THE JEWELLED HORSE’, the Chinese characters for ‘Horse’. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark at the right side and the designer's initials (AH) behind the tail horse.
