The two stems are joined by the plant symbols of the English rose, the Scottish thistle, the Irish shamrock and the Australian mimosa, with the inscription 'HM QUEEN ELIZABETH 1952 | 2022' divided into three lines. Behind the shield, heraldic overlays stand out. The origin of the heraldic caps is linked to medieval knights who attached cloaks to the top of their helmets to protect them from the sun and dust.
