The reverse shows a tiger pouncing off the ground with its muscular body and expressive stripes fur rendered with lifelike precision and its mouth open, exposing its many teeth and powerful jaws ready to clamp down on prey. The Chinese character (虎) for tiger is above, the year 1998 vertically to the left and the inscription "1/10 OZ 9999 GOLD" is placed along the rim and the Perth Mint's mark, "P," is not included.
