A desert scorpion is depicted in the reverse design of the coin. The image of the scorpion shows off a finely modeled scorpion in dynamic high relief with massive prominent pincers that it uses to secure food, segmented body, multiple legs and a curved articulated tail ending in its characteristic poison-tipped stinger that the scorpion uses to inject its victims while the desert and radiant sun in the background. On the bottom of the reverse the inscription "1 oz. .9999 GOLD" - the weight of the coin and the purity of the Silver. On the left of the inscription "DESERT SCORPION" - the name of the coin and the designer's monogram "A over B" in tiny letters right below.
