Description:
The obverse features a farmer dressed in simple working clothes and traditional Basotho hat "its woven surface, decorative horizontal bands and geometric patterns rendered in frosted relief", plowing a field with two oxen, a powerful symbol of traditional agriculture in Lesotho and hard work. Behind them, a series of horizontal landscapes, suggesting cultivated fields and open countryside.
