Description:
The obverse presents the "Mouth of Truth," or Bocca della Verità, an ancient round marble slab, featuring the face of the sea titan god Oceanus. The eyes, nostrils and mouth are open, used as a drain cover in the nearby Temple of Hercules Victor, which had an oculus (a round open space in the middle of the roof) similar to that of the Pantheon. Below right is a half globe with latitude and longitude lines is the emblem of the series, and the intertwined letters "GA" (for GOLD AFFORDABLE) are an abbreviation for the numismatic program. Around the portrait appear the inscriptions accompanied by the year of issue "ICONS OF THE WORLD 2019" identifying the series name around above, the metal, weight and purity".9999 FINEST GOLD 1/200 OZ OR PUR" around below.
