Description:
This gold coin celebrating the 220th anNiversary of the London Stock Exchange oppening, features the façade of the Royal Exchange from the Bank junction, opened by Queen Victoria in 1844, was designed by the English architect Sir William Tite. Keeping to the original 16th century layout of a four-sided building surrounding a central courtyard the design included an imposing eight-column portico, inspired by the Pantheon in Rome with a richly detailed interior showing arches, columns, decorative reliefs and the other sides of the building based on Italian renaissance models, below is a half globe with latitude and longitude lines is the emblem of the series, and the intertwined letters "GA" (for GOLD AFFORDABLE) are an abbreviation for the numismatic program. Around the portrait appear the inscriptions accompanied by the year of issue "ICONS OF THE WORLD 2020" identifying the series name around above, the metal, weight and purity".9999 FINEST GOLD 1/200 OZ OR PUR" around below. The design is completed by a medallion with the anniversary date, ""220th Anniv.", commemorating the event.
