On the reverse side of the coin a depiction of a kangaroo reaching into a tree. The kangaroo has two joeys in its pouch in this design. This design is based on a woodcarving from Woodthorpe colorized engravings of kangaroos as recorded in A Voyage to Botany Bay. The face value "TEN DOLLARS " around above and the metal, weight and purity marks “1/10 OZ .9999 AU” around below.
