Description:
The Australian coin depicts a slouch hat resting on a rifle beside a bayonet, symbolizing the spot where a soldier fell on Turkish soil. The image, reminiscent of a past ceremonial scene at Gallipoli on ANZAC Day, is portrayed against names of soldiers killed during the fighting in the background. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark appears below, the designer's initials (WR) just next to and the coin's weight, and purity are also inscribed. On the outer circle the inscription "AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND ARMY CORPS" 1915 - 2005.
