The reverse of the coin depicts a stylized ribbon arranged like a simplified map of Australia, and a Federation Star dividing the dates "1901 and 2001" with the legend Centenary of Federation around above and around below, the face value and denomination ONE DOLLAR Interestingly the proof version of the coin only had the legends on the coin with the map of Australia painted on using the pad printing process.
