Description:
The reverse features a striking composition centered around a large Long Tan Cross, a memorial which was erected by the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment on 18 August 1969 to mark the site of the Battle of Long Tan, flanked by two detailed to the right, the rubber plantations of South Vietnam that the cross was raised and to the left heavy pouring rain. The inscription "BATTLE OF LONG TAN 1966" curves along the below left edge, the face value "5 DOLLARS" is inscribed close to the left and the designer's initials (TD) are also incorporated into the design on right next to "9" of 1966.
