The reverse design features a red poppy (that grew profusely the first spring after the end of the 1st World War in the fields of France and Belgium, and is said to symbolize the bloodshed by those who gave their lives fighting that war) center with a large 100 and the date, at 11 am on 11 - 11 representing Armistice, the end WWI and the end to The ANZAC Centenary commemorations. The legend accompanying the date at the bottom of the coin reads "ARMISTICE, 11-11-11" and the top shows the denomination in two lines "TWO DOLLARS."
