The reverse design depicts the eternal flame surrounded by a pool of reflection, inspired by the Eternal Flame memorial at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. There, a perpetual flame burns as a symbol of eternal life and remembrance of those who gave their life in war. It sits in the Pool of Reflection in the commemorative courtyard.
