The coin’s reverse features a finely detailed image of colored image of Papilio ulysses, the Ulysses butterfly (also known as the blue mountain swallowtail butterfly or Blue emperor) in the pad-printing process with lifelike detail, depicts its lifecycle in Euodia trees, eggs on backside of leaves, caterpillar on branch and at last pupa below branch below the image. The the designer's signature (AB) below right on a leaf and the denomination "1 DOLLAR" below.
