On the reverse, the design presents a beautifully engraved Martinsyde Type A Mk.I aircraft: detailed relief of the aircraft biplane is shown in flight, long-range two seater G-EAMR with visible wings, struts, propeller, and fuselage markings superimposed over a compass with engraving inscriptions include "MARTINSYDE A1" around above and a pilot CAPT. CEDRIC E HOWEL, and his navigator Lieutenant GEORGE H FRASER around below. Surrounding inscriptions identify the name of the series "THE GREAT AIR RACE 1919 ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA." The designer’s initials (SMS) are around right.
