The coin’s reverse features Governor Macquarie's portrait surrounded by inscription "LACHLAN MACQUARIE GOVERNOR OF NSW" above, a five-shilling holey dollar in the background and a 15 pence dump below right the image. These were Australia's first coinage made from Spanish silver dollars. In the left field , the Perth Mint “P” mintmark on Macquarie's shoulder.
