The reverse shows Australian Antarctic Territory and converging latitude lines and marked with the locations of the three important continental stations, Mawson, Davis and Casey. The Nimrod is shown which embarked The British Antarctic Expedition of 1907-09 and aims to commemorate the polar vessels Discovery and Aurora which sailed during the 'Heroic Age' of Antarctic exploration. The inscriptions include "INTERNATIONAL POLAR YEAR 2007-2008" around below and "Australian Antarctic Territory" at the opposite. The denomination above the Nimrod ship.
