On the reverse, the design presents a beautifully engraved ALLIANCE P.2 aircraft: detailed relief of the aircraft biplane is shown in flight, with visible wings, struts, propeller, landing gear, and fuselage markings superimposed over a compass with engraving inscriptions include "ALLIANCE P.2" around above and a pilot Lieutenant ROGER M DOUGLAS, and navigator Lieutenant JS LESLIE ROSS around below. Surrounding inscriptions identify the name of the series "THE GREAT AIR RACE 1919 ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA." The designer’s initials (SMS) are around right.
