On the reverse, the design presents a beautifully engraved Airco DH9 aircraft: a biplane with open cockpit, wooden struts, and detailed wing bracing superimposed over a compass with engraving inscriptions include "AIRCO DH9" around above and piloted by Lieutenant Ray Parer, and co-pilot Lieutenant John Cowe McIntosh around below. Surrounding inscriptions identify the name of the series "THE GREAT AIR RACE 1919 ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA." The designer’s initials (SMS) are around right. Envelope Privy Mark, in the left field.
